This Blog

We are a particular people (Valley Community Church) in a particular place (Pleasanton, CA) with a particular purpose: to pursue the Jesus life together. This blog exists to explore what that means so that the members of Valley Community Church might be better equipped to participate and lead others in the mission of God. God’s mission is cosmic in scope but advances through the ordinary details of the ordinary lives of ordinary people.

comGroups?

We believe that the Jesus life, the life of Spirit-empowered service of God’s mission, cannot be pursued alone (apart from community) or anonymously (in a large community). So “comGroups” are small, diverse groups of people pursuing the Jesus life together. We write with the assumption that you are actively involved in a comGroup with a specific mission and aim to be a voice of guidance and encouragement along the way.
